Nicole Mary Kidman AC (born 20 June 1967) is an American and Australian producer and actress. She is famous for her performances in various films and television productions. She has been one of the most highly-paid actresses in the world. She's the recipient of many awards, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award as well as two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Golden Globe Awards.Kidman began her acting career in Australia by appearing in the 1983 movies Bush Christmas and BMX Bandits. Her breakthrough came in 1989 when she starred in the thriller film Dead Calm and the miniseries Bangkok Hilton. Days of Thunder, her action film, was her international breakthrough. The roles she played as a lead in Far and Away (1992), Batman Forever (95), To Die For (1995) as well as Eyes Wide Shut (1999) gained her more attention. As the writer Virginia Woolf in the drama The Hours (2002), Kidman was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress. Other Academy Award nominations were received for Kidman's performances in Moulin Rouge. (2001) and the dramatics Rabbit Hole (2010), Lion (2016) and Being the Ricardos (2021).
