Yao Ming is a Chinese professional basketball player who retired and has an estimated net worth of $160 million. He played for the Shanghai Sharks and the Houston Rockets. At 7 feet 6 inches, Yao was the tallest active player in the NBA during his final season during his time in the league. On November 9 in 2007, more than 200 million people in China tuned in to watch Yao play against the Milwaukee Bucks which also featured a Chinese player known as Yi Jianlian. It was one of the most watched games of NBA history. Through the course of his NBA career, Yao was an eight-time All Star. He scored 9,247 pointsand recorded 4,494 rebounds as well as 920 blocks.His highest career salary came in his final season when the Rockets paid Yao $17.6 million. In total he earned roughly $93 million in NBA salary. In his fifth season as a Sharks player, Ming won the first CBA title. In his final year playing for Shanghai, Yao made all 21 of his shots in the finals.
