Sir Roderick David Stearn CBE was born on 10 January 1945. He is a British singer/songwriter and rock/pop musician. Stewart was born in London and is English and Scottish. Stewart is known for his raspy voice and sales of over 250 million records across the world, is one of the most popular music artist. The number one album, ten top albums and 31 top ten singles and six number one UK singles are among his greatest achievements. Stewart has had 16 top ten singles in the US and four of them have reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Stewart was knighted during the 2016 Birthday Honours in recognition of his services to the music industry and charitable causes. The beginning of his music career came in 1962 when he began busking using the harmonica. In 1963 Stewart joined The Dimensions as a harmonica singer and player. In 1964, Stewart joined Long John Baldry and the All Stars before moving to the Jeff Beck Group in 1967. Joining Faces in the year 1969, he also pursued an independent career, releasing his debut album that year. Stewart's first albums comprised a blend of R&B folk, soul and folk music. His third album Every Picture Tells a Story, was his breakthrough, topping charts in the UK, US, Canada and Australia and also the ballad "Maggie May.
