Eva Gabor

Eva Gabor (/,eIv@ g@'bo:r (/,eIv@ g@'bo:r/ EH-@ g@-BOR, - GAH-bor -- February 11, 1919 - July 4 1995) was a Hungarian-American actress, businesswoman, singer, and socialite. She voiced Duchess and Miss Bianca in the animated Disney Classics, The Aristocats (1970), The Rescuers (1977), and The Rescuers Down Under (1990). Gabor was well-known for her role on the 1965-71 television sitcom Green Acres as Lisa Douglas who was the wife of Eddie Albert's character Oliver Wendell Douglas. Gabor was a successful actor in film as well as on Broadway, and on television. Gabor also became an entrepreneur with a lot of success and sold wigs, clothing and beauty products. Gabor was also an actress and socialite, just like her sisters Zsa Zsa Gabor and Magda Gabor. In 1965, Gabor played the role in the film Lisa Douglas. Her husband Oliver Wendell Douglas (Eddie Albert), decides to quit the "rat race" of urban life. He purchases a farm located in a rural area, which forces Lisa to give up her city life. CBS broadcast the sitcom Green Acres by Paul Henning. Green Acres was set in Hooterville which was the same location that was used for Petticoat Junction (1963-70), and would occasionally cross over with its sister sitcom. It was a ratings success despite not being able to climb the ranks.
