Donna Douglas

 Donna Douglas, born Doris Ione Smith on September 26, 1932 and died January 1 in 2015. She was an American singer and actress best known for her role in The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971). Following her acting career, Douglas became a real-estate agent, gospel artist as well as an inspirational speaker and author of books for children and adults.Douglas relocated to New York City to pursue an acting career in show business, and started as an illustration model for toothpaste advertisements.She was seen as the "Letters Girl" on NBC's The Perry Como Show in 1957, and also as the "Billboard Girl" on NBC's The Steve Allen Show in 1959. The appearances, as well as other on television, resulted in New York photographers to award her "Miss Byline" crown. She wore it during CBS' The Ed Sullivan Show in 1959. Hal B. Wallis was also a part of the Sullivan episode. He cast her in the role of Marjorie Burke in Career (1959) which starred Shirley MacLaine, Dean Martin, Anthony Franciosa. The film was followed by a bit part in the musical comedy Li'l Abner (1959) and the role of a secretary in the comedy/romance Lover Come Back (1961) which starred Rock Hudson and Doris Day.
