Stephen King

 Stephen Edwin King, born on the 21st of September 1947 is an American writer of horror and supernatural suspense, fiction, and. King also writes science-fiction and fantasy books. His novels are referred to as the "Kings of Horror", a play on King's surname and a reference his high popularity in popular culture. They've sold over 350 million copies and been adapted into films television series, miniseries comic books, as well as TV shows. King has published 64 novels under the name of Richard Bachman and five nonfiction books. King has also written about 200 stories for short fiction, the majority of which are published in books collections.King has received Bram Stoker Awards, World Fantasy Awards, and British Fantasy Society Awards. In 2003 the National Book Foundation awarded him the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. He also won the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement in 2004 and the Grand Master Award of the Mystery Writers of America in 2007. He was presented with a National Medal of Arts by the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts in 2015 in recognition of his contribution to the field of literature.
