 Shery sheryl, Shery, a Guatemalan Latin pop singer, songwriter and musician born on August 18, 1985. The songs she wrote herself "El amor es un fantasma", and "En la life and for siempre" were finalists in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in New York City. After two-and-a-half years of production, "El amor es un fantasma" is her debut album, was released the month of January in 2008. The CD is named after the first song ever composed by the singer, which made it to radio with 26 weeks of continuous air time on the Top 40 in her natal Guatemala in 2005.The album features 11 original songs written by Shery and a song composed by the legendary Spanish songwriter Jose Luis Perales, as also duets featuring Italian producer / songwriter Francesco Sondelli, Guatemalan singer Jorge "El Bardo" and another duet with Cuban-American vocalist Daniel Rene, former member of the Latin Pop band Menudo / MDO. Eddie Kramer mixes a track on the album.
