 Peyton Williams Manning, born March 24 1976 Peyton Williams Manning, born March 24, 1976, is an American former quarterback of football who played for 18 years in the National Football League. The nickname he received was "the Sheriff",he played 14 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and four with the Denver Broncos.Manning is considered to be among the most successful quarterbacks of all time. A member of the Manning football family, he is the second son of the former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and older brother of former NFL quarterback Eli Manning. He was a former college football player at Tennessee. As an undergraduate, he was awarded the Maxwell and Davey O'Brien awards, as in addition to the Johnny Unitas Golden Ar Awards. The Colts chose Manning first overall in 1998 NFL Draft. He served as their quarterback of choice between 1998 until 2010. He was instrumental in transforming the struggling Colts franchise into consistent playoff contenders, leading them to 11 playoff runs, eight division titles, three AFC Championship Games, two Super Bowl appearances, and one championship trophy in Super Bowl XLI, the franchise's first title in three decades and their first since moving to Indianapolis.
