John Christopher Depp II (born on June 9 1993) is an American actor and musician. Many awards have been given to Depp such as the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Golden Globe Award. He also received nominations for three Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards as well as Platoon (1986). Depp gained fame in the form of an 21 Jump Street teen idol (1987-1990). Depp was mostly an actor in independent films, frequently with eccentric directors, in the 1990s. The films include Cry-Baby (1990) and What's eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Benny and Joon (1993), Dead Man (1995), Donnie Brasco (1997), and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998). Depp started his long-term relationship with Tim Burton by portraying the protagonists of the films Edward Scissorhands (1990), Ed Wood (944) and Sleepy Hollow (99). Chocolat (2000) also earned his praise from critics.
