John Edmund Mulaney, born on August 26, 1982, is an American comedian actor, writer, and producer. From 2008 until 2013 he was an Saturday Night Live writer. He wrote a variety of sketches and characters, among them Stefon the character who recurred that he along with Bill Hader co-created. Mulaney has returned hosting the show numerous times since then. He is also known as a stand-up comedian with stand-up specials The Top Part (2009), New in Town (2012), The Comeback Kid (2015), and Kid Gorgeous (2018), for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.Mulaney is also known for his Netflix children's musical comedy special John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch (2019).He was the creator and star of the short-lived Fox sitcom Mulaney (2014-2015), a semi-autobiographical series about his life. Mulaney is most well-known for his character George St. Geegland, the comedian duo of Nick Kroll. Nick Kroll and Mulaney appeared on Broadway as well as on television in Oh, Hello on Broadway (2016).
