Maria Jose de Pablo Fernandez, referred to professionally as Cote de Pablo (born 12 November 1979), is a Chilean-American actress and singer. Her birthplace was Santiago, Chile. At age 10, she moved to the United States to pursue acting. After completing her high school education, she attended Carnegie Mellon University, where she continued her studies in the arts and theatre. After having appeared in a range of television roles in 2005, she was commissioned to portray main character Ziva David in the CBS television show NCIS in 2005. She won an ALMA Award for the role in 2011.She was featured in a segment of Tom Waits' song "Temptation" for an episode of 2008 of NCIS. In addition to the show, she has sung on Roberto Pitre's Vivo En Vida CD.De Pablo started her career in the world of entertainment at age 15 when she hosted some episodes of the talk show Control (1994-95) on Univision, alongside the former Entertainment Tonight host Carlos Ponce.
