Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan, legally Robert Dylan, was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941. Dylan is an American musician and singer. Dylan is widely thought of as one of the best songwriters ever. His career spans over 60 years and he's been a major figure in popular culture. A large portion of his most well-known work dates from the 1960s, when songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" (1963) and "The Times Are A-Changin'" (1964) were popular songs for the civil rights and antiwar movements. His lyrics during this period incorporated a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences, defying pop music conventions and appealing to the burgeoning counterculture.Following his self-titled debut album in 1962, which comprised mainly traditional folk songs, Dylan made his breakthrough as a songwriter with the release of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan the following year. The album contains "BlowinIn the Wind" and the complex and thematically rich "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall". A lot of his songs were inspired by older folk songs. In 1964, he released his politically sensitive The Times They are a-Changin' and the more contemplative and lyrically abstract Other Side of Bob Dylan.
