Barry William Blenkhorn, better known as Barry Williams on the stage was born on September 30 1954. He is well-known for his role as the eldest of the Brady sons, Greg Brady, on the ABC television series The Brady Bunch (1969-1974) in which he re-enacted the role in several sequels and spin-offs.Following the end of The Brady Bunch in 1974, Williams continued to appear in guest roles on television and was also involved in musical theatre, traveling with shows like Grease, The Sound of Music, Pippin, and West Side Story.In 1988, Williams appeared on Broadway in the musical Romance/Romance alongside Tony Award-nominated Alison Fraser. Williams took on the role of Alfred/Sam, the leading male character in the show, following Scott Bakula quit. A few years later, Williams was able to capitalize on being typecast in the role of Greg Brady. He was part of an array of television and movie appearances that celebrated his role as a teenager. But, he ultimately got a part that was distinct from the Brady character.
