The tiny town of Boca Chica, Texas is home to just 26 residents (as as of 2000 at the very least). It is located just a few miles from the entrance to the Rio Grande River. It's not far from the Gulf Coast and just 20 miles to the east of Brownsville, Texas. It was established in the 1960s. the quiet town is now facing loss at the hands of billionaire Elon Musk. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk purchased land in Boca Chica in 2015. He began purchasing homes that were abandoned. Why? He is planning to construct an exclusive hotel for SpaceX there. He's been successful in acquiring the majority of the town , but 10 tenacious residents are refusing to sell their homes to the eccentric billionaire.Musk has centered his Starship-Super Heavy project in the tiny town. The rocket, which is 394 feet tall, can drastically reduce costs of space travel and make it cheaper. The project is in danger when the remaining 10 residents living in Boca Chica, who a majority are elderly or retired--continue to resist selling their homes to Musk.SpaceX attempted to purchase Boca Chica as a whole back in September, 2019. At the time, the company claimed that it would offer residents three times the price of their houses.
