The Meet Group, Inc. (formerly MeetMe) owns several mobile social networking platforms, comprising MeetMe, hi5, LOVOO, Growlr, Skout and Tagged. The company has offices in New Hope and Philadelphia as along with San Francisco and Dresden. They persuaded their older brother Geoff who was the founder of EssayEdge and ResumeEdge out of his Harvard dorm to fund their project. Dave was in junior high, and Catherine was a sophomore when they announced the launch. The project was initiated in the beginning in Montgomery High School in suburban New Jersey, where they both attended. The website was developed entirely by people from India.In June of 2012, the company formed from the combination of myYearbook and Quepasa was renamed MeetMe. This is due to the fact that "Yearbook" is a reference to having friends in the past is more relevant in comparison to "MeetMe", which would focus on users making new friends.
