Sherry D. Jackson (born February 15, 1942) is an American retired actress and former child star.In 1950, young Sherry became friends with actor Steve Cochran as she worked with him in the film The Lion and the Horse. Steve introduced his friend, writer Montgomery Pittman, to Sherry's widowed mother. The love affair blossomed and Pittman married Maurita in Torrance, California on June 4, 1952. Sherry was the flower girl, and Gary, his younger brother, was the ring bearer. Cochran was Pittman's best friend. In 1955, Cochran hired Pittman to write the next movie, Come Next Spring, the first film that Cochran created himself. Sherry was playing Cochran's mute step-daughter Annie Ballot. This role was written by Pittman specifically for Cochran.
