Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ 'goUmez/ s@-LEE-n@ GOH-mez; born July 22, 1992) is an American actress, singer, and film producer. Gomez started her acting career with the popular children's TV show Barney & Friends (2002-2004). When she was a teenager she became famous for starring as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). As well as her television work, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Princess Protection Program (2009), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), The Dead Don't Die (2019) and A Rainy Day in New York (2019). Her voice acting credits include the character as Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022), 13 Reasons Why (2017-202020), and The Life Undocumented (2018).
