Ronda Jean Rousey (/'raUzi/; born February 1, 1987) is an American professional wrestler and actress. She was also a former judoka and mixed martial artist. She is currently signed to WWE. In her second year, she is the SmackDown Women's champion. She is best known for her involvement as a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Roddy Piper gave her the nickname "Rowdy" and she started her career in professional wrestling with WWE in 2018. Her debut was in Wrestlemania 34. She was given the Raw Women's Championship in that year's SummerSlam and she headlined WWE's inaugural all-women's pay per view when she defended her title in WWE Evolution. Rousey lost her title in the first women's WrestleMania main-event at Wrestlemania 35. Rousey returned to the ring at Royal Rumble 2022, winning the women's Royal Rumble match. Charlotte Flair was her challenger for the SmackDown Women's match.
