Reba McEntire

     Reba Nell McEntire, better known as Reba was born on March 28, 1955. She is often referred to as "the Queen of Country", having sold over 75 million albums around the world. McEntire is an actor and a film and television celebrity. She has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide in the 70s. She starred in the television show Reba, which aired for six seasons. McEntire is also the founder of several businesses, including a clothing brand. McEntire was one of four children. McEntire founded the Singing McEntires with her mother as well as her siblings. They recorded music for a small label , and appeared at local events. McEntire attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University to pursue a career as a teacher in the public schools. Red Steagall, a country singer, was a witness to McEntire's singing at the rodeo. Steagall was attracted by McEntire's voice, helped to secure a recording contract for country music with PolyGram/Mercury Records back in the year 1975.
