Mike Wolfe, a lifelong American picker , has been searching for treasures hidden in the bushes since he was only four years old. Through the years, he's earned a reputation as one of the country's foremost foragers, traveling coast to coast in search of old gold. Wolfe is a picker who sees dilapidated barns, overgrown gardens and many other things. He also appreciates the beauty and the stories that lie of lost objects as well as his fellow picker Frank Fritz. "A picker's kind of like a nomad," he explains. And for Wolfe and the people he interacts with and the tales they tell are an integral aspect of his travels, ultimately as valuable as the rare finds he unearths within their attics, barns and sheds.What do Wolfe look for? He laughs, "Anything that I can make money on." However, he is looking for things that have some kind of story. Things which fill in the blanks in the everyday past of America. This could include antique baby carriages, vintage Jukeboxes, or even old cars with peeling metal advertising signs.
