Kelly Clarkson

 Kelly Brianne Clarkson was born April 24, 1982. She is an American singer-songwriter, author and a television host. Her fame was boosted following her win in the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002, which earned her a record deal with RCA. Her debut single, "A Moment Like This", topped the US Billboard Hot 100, and became the country's best selling single of 2002. The track was released on her debut album, Thankful (2003), which debuted atop the Billboard 200. Trying to reinvent her image, Clarkson parted ways with Idol management and moved to pop rock for her second studio album, Breakaway (2004). Breakaway was backed by four US Top-Ten singles that included the title track, "Since U Have Been Gone", "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Because of You". It has sold over 12 million copies worldwide and she was awarded two Grammy Awards. Clarkson also took creative control of her third studio album, My December (2006), writing all of its songs as well as serving as the album's executive producer. But her label was dissatisfied with the album's dark rock and pushed it back.
