Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American artist, singer, author, and television presenter. Following her win on the 2002 season of American Idol, she was the talk of the town and received RCA the record contract. The first single she released, "A Moment Like This" made it to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100, and became the country's best selling single of 2002. It was released as part of her debut album Thankful (2003) that debuts at the top of the Billboard 200. Clarkson made a decision to reinvent herself and left Idol management to concentrate on the pop genre for Breakaway (2004). Breakaway was supported by four US Top Ten singles, which included the title track, "Since U Have Been Gone" and "Because of You". It also earned two Grammy Awards. Clarkson continued to take part in the creative process of the third album of her studio, My December (2006), where she co-wrote all of its tracks and was executive producer. The label, however, was dissatisfied with the album's darker rock sound and pushed it back a bit. Clarkson's fourth and fifth studio albums, All I Ever Wanted (2009) and Stronger (2011) were a return to a lighter and pop rock sound which was her second US number-one album and the latter becoming the first musician to win the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album twice.
