Jonathan Dwight Jones, born July 19, 1987, is an American mixed martial artist who has been signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He fights in the division of light heavyweight. Jones was a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. He held the title from March 2011 until April 2015. The title was held from December 2018 through August 2020. Jones was also the interim Light Heavyweight Champion from 2016. Jones also held the interim UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in 2016. Jones holds numerous UFC records such as titles, wins, defenses and the longest winning streak in light heavyweight. Jones was widely regarded as the best pound for pound fighter throughout his championship reign. His only loss in professional competition is against Matt Hamill. This result was not embraced by Matt Hamill as well as UFC President Dana White.
