Jonathan Dwight Jones, born on July 19, 1987, is an American mixed martial artist who has been contracted to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is a fighter in the division of light heavyweight. Jones was an ex- UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. He was the champion from March 2011 until April 15, 2015. The title was also held from December 2018 until August 2020. Jones was also the interim UFC Light Heavyweight Champion from the year 2016. Jones was also the interim UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in the year 2016. Jones holds a number of UFC records which include the longest winning streak, the most titles defended and victories in lightweight heavyweight. Jones is widely regarded as the top pound-for-pound fighter on the planet during the majority of his time in championships. Jones was never defeated or stopped throughout his professional career. Jones's one loss in professional competition was to Matt Hamill in 2015. Hamill and Dana White disagreed on the decision. Jones also lost his title three times as a result of discipline actions. After being arrested on criminal charges of hit and run, Jones was the first fighter to be stripped of his title. Then, he was removed from the official UFC rankings.
