Jo Koy

 Joseph Glenn Herbert (born June 2nd, 1971), known professionally as Jo Koy, is an American stand-up comic and actor. He was a frequent panelist on E! He was a frequent panelist on the late-night E! show Chelsea Lately. The show has since been numerous Comedy Central and Netflix specials.Jo Koy credits his mom for his comedic and acting skills. In his comedy shows, he often tells stories about his mother. He was encouraged by her to take part in school talent shows and to stage impromptu shows for his family and friends. The result was performances at the Las Vegas coffee house and resulted in a move to Angeles.Jo Koy's stage name stems from a nickname that his family members gave him growing up. On September 22 2019 he told the world that he had been talking to his cousin about an appropriate stage name in 1989, when his aunt called him and asked him to join her for dinner. (Ko means "my" in Tagalog, so Jo Ko means "my Jo"). He misunderstood the meaning as she was saying "Koy", and he has been using it ever since.
