Jayne Mansfield

 Jayne Mansfield, born Vera Jayne Palmer on April 19th, 1933 – June 29 1967, was an American singer and actress. Mansfield was also Playboy's playmate. Mansfield was one of the most famous sex icons of the 1950s and 1960s when she was under contract with 20th Century Fox. She is well-known for her public appearances as well as publicity stunts. While her film career was short Mansfield enjoyed numerous box-office successes and received both a Theatre World Award as well as a Golden Globe Award. Mansfield was the fictional actress Rita Marlowe, who won the Broadway play "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" (1955-1956) in which she reprised in the film adaptation of the play (1957). Her other film roles include the musical comedy The Girl Can't Help It (1956) and the drama The Wayward Bus (1957), the Neo-noir Too Hot to Handle (1960), and the sex comedy Promises! Promises! (1963) This film established Mansfield as the first significant American actress to perform in a naked scene in a post-silent film
