 Eva de la Caridad Mendez (/'mendez/, Spanish: ['eba de la kari'dad 'mendes]; born March 5, 1974) is professionally known as Eva Mendes, is an American actress, model and fashion designer. Her acting career started in the late 1990s, through a string of films featuring her such as Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (1998) and Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000).Mendes's performance in Training Day (2001) marked the turning point of her career. It also led to parts in the highly commercially successful films 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) and Hitch (2005). Ghost Rider (2008) and The Spirit (2008) were both adaptations of comics. Then she moved into dramatic territory in the form of We Own the Night, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans 2009, Last Night (2010) and The Place Beyond the Pines (2012). Out of Time (2003) and The Women (2008) were her other films. She was also in The Other Guys (2010) and Girl in Progress (2012).
