Elizabeth Montgomery

 Elizabeth Victoria Montgomery (April 15 1933 until May 18, 1995)[2] was an American actress whose career spanned five decades of stage, film and on television. Her most well-known role was the role of Samantha Stephens, the witch on the television series Bewitched. The actress was the daughter of Robert Montgomery, an actor director, producer, and actor. She started her career with Robert Montgomery Presents in the 1950s. In 1956 she made her Broadway debut in Late Love, which won her the Theater World Award. In the 1960s, she was known for her role as Samantha Stephens on the ABC sitcom Bewitched. She was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards and was awarded four Golden Globe Award nominations for her role in the show. After Bewitched ended its run in 1972, Montgomery continued her career by appearing in a variety of TV films, including A Case of Rape (1974) in which she played Ellen Harrod, and The Legend of Lizzie Borden (1975), as Lizzie Borden. Both roles earned her additional Emmy Award nominations.Throughout her career, Montgomery was involved in various forms of political activism and charitable work.
