Courteney Bass Cox (previously Courteney Cox Arquette; born June 15th, 1964)[5][6] is an American actor and film maker. She gained international recognition for her role as Monica Geller on the NBC sitcom Friends, which aired from 1994 to 2004. The show was nominated for seven Screen Actors' Guild Awards, one of which she took home. The award was further rewarded for her acting as Gale Weathers in the horror film franchise Scream (1996-present). She was also in Family Ties (1987-1989), Lucy Spiller (1907-2008) and Jules Cobb (1909-2015), all of which were nominated for Emmys and Critics Choice Awards. Cox and her husband, David Arquette, founded the production company Coquette Productions.
