Stephen King

 Stephen Edwin King, born on September 21, 1947 was an American author of horror and supernatural suspense, fiction and. He also writes science fiction and fantasy books. Described as the "King of Horror", an homage to his surname and an ode to his high standing in pop culture, his novels have sold more than 350 million copies. Many of them have been made into TV series, films miniseries, comic books. King has published 64 novels under the pen name Richard Bachman and five nonfiction books. King has also written around 200 short stories, the majority of which were published in books collections.King has received Bram Stoker Awards, World Fantasy Awards as well as British Fantasy Society Awards. The Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters was awarded to him by the National Book Foundation in 2003. He also received the 2004 World Fantasy Award for life achievement , as well as the 2007 Grand Master Award of the Mystery Writers of America. He was awarded a National Medal of Arts by the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts in 2015 for his contributions to the field of literature.
