Salma Hayek

 Salma Hayek Pinault, /'haIek/ HYek; Spanish: ['salma ’xajek] born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez on September 2, 1966) is an American and Mexican actress and producer. She started her career in Mexico by playing a lead role in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as also in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she received an Ariel Award nomination. She soon established herself in Hollywood by appearing in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) as well as Dogma (1999). Hayek's performance as Frida Kahlo, a painter, in Frida (2002) which was a biographical documentary she made which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nominations. In the following years, Hayek focused more on producing , while also appearing in the action-packed films Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003), After the Sunset (2004) and Bandidas (2006). Her commercial success continued through the comedies Grown Ups (2010), Grown Ups 2 (2013) and The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) as well as voicing the animated Puss in Boots (2011), The Pirates! (2012) as well as Sausage Partie (2016).
