Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965)[3 is an American actress, producer and director. Her role as the main character on the crime drama TNT The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. Sedgwick was honored with the Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The series ended on August 13, 2012, following the completion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She was nominated to win a Golden Globe for her performance on Something to Talk About (1995).
