Julie Newmar, born Julia Chalene Newmeyer on 16 August 1933 is an American actress as well as a singer and dancer. Her name has been a part of the spotlight for many roles on stage, screen, as well as on television. She is also an author, designer of lingerie and real-estate mogul. For her portrayal as Katrin Sveg, she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured Actress In the same Play. She also reprised the role in The Marriage-Go-Round in 1961. She was a part of two seasons of Batman (1966-1967) as Catwoman during the 1960s. Other stage credits include Ziegfeld Follies (1956) and Lola in Damn Yankees! In 1961, Irma la Douce (1965) in regional productions. Newmar also appeared in the music video of George Michael's 1992 hit single, "Too Funky", and was a guest star in the 1995 film To Wong Foo: Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar. Her voice-over work is featured in the animated feature films Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders (2016) and Batman vs. Two-Face (2017), where she reprised her role in the role of Catwoman 50 years after the original television series.as the third oldest of three children, she was born to Don and Helen (Jesmer) Newmeyer. Her father was head of the department of physical education at Los Angeles City College and was a player in American football professionally during the 1920s for the 1926 Los Angeles Buccaneers
