American musician James Alan Hetfield was born on the 3rd of August, 1963. He is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist, cofounder and primary songwriter for Metallica, a heavy metal group. The intricate rhythm playing of his is his strength. However, he occasionally sings on his own and also leads guitar live , or in the studio. After responding to an advertisement in The Recycler in Los Angeles, Lars Ulrich asked Hetfield to be a co-founder of Metallica. Metallica received nine Grammy Awards, and has released ten studio albums and three extended plays, as well as 24 singles. Hetfield was ranked No. 8 in Joel McIver's book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists and No. 24 by Hit Parader on their list of 100 Greatest Metal Vocalists of All Time.
