RaaShaun Casey (born September 3rd, 1977) who is professionally known as DJ Envy is an American disc jockey (DJ) and record producer and radio host. DJ Envy is among three hosts of the Breakfast Club's syndicated radio show. Angela Yee and Charlamagne the God are also hosts. DJ Envy was born in Queens, New York City. His friend DJ Clue introduced him to the mixtape scene in the late 1990s. In order to help him become successful in the field of disc jockey DJ Clue took Envy under his guidance. By the early 2000s, he was hosting commercials and exclusives for other established artists that comprised Hahflamez, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and The Lox. He was then signed by DJ Clue's record label Desert Storm. The label released his debut studio album The Desert Storm Mixtape, Blok Party, Vol., in 2003. 1.DJ Envy's big break on the radio came when he mixed every month for Hot 97's program called "Takin' it to the Streets" hosted by Angie Martinez from 12:00 am until 4:00 am. He later took over when Martinez became pregnant. He then co-hosted Hot 97's morning show along with Miss Jones from 6 am-10 am daily. He left the morning show in July 2008, when Miss Jones moved to Philadelphia.
