Sanaa Lathan

 Sanaa McCoy Lathan (born September 19, 1971) is an American actress. She is the daughter of Eleanor McCoy, an actress and Stan Lathan, a film director. After appearing on the television shows In the House and Family Matters, NYPD Blue, Moesha and Moesha, her career took off. After appearing in the shows In the House Family Matters, In the House, Moesha, and NYPD Blue Lathan gained further fame. She also appeared in the 1998 film about superheroes, Blade. Lathan then went on to film roles in Love & Basketball (2000), The Best Man (1999), Brown Sugar (2002) and Brown Sugar (2002). Lathan's Broadway performance in A Raisin in the Sun earned her an Tony Award nomination for the Best Featured Actress in the Musical. Following the performance, she was cast as Alexa "Lex” Woods in Alien vs. Predator. She landed the leading role in Tyler Perry's film The Family That Preys. Lathan was back in theatre in 2010, when she appeared in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof the all-black show at the Novello Theatre. She also reprised her role of Robyn in The Best Man Holiday (2013), a sequel that was themed around Christmas to The Best Man.
